P1516 Code, New Throttle Body?
#21
08 Enclave 1516
So I found this thread as I have run into the same issue on my enclave. I have cleaned the throttle body which was pretty dirty about a month ago. The code stopped for about three weeks now its back again. The wires on connected to the TB dont seem to be loose at all so now I am trying to figure out the logical next step. I have read somewhere that putting a little wd40 on the TB hinge may help but I dont hear the TB struggling to open when the accelerator is pressed. Is there something else that could possibly need cleaning?

well, three days of great running and REP again. i'm lost and about ready to give up. im unsure what else could use cleaning for your vehicle i've tried and puked money into my silverado with not a lick of luck. new throttle body, new pigtail and made a new harness going to the pigtail, new pedal sensor, software update and even went as far as to change the plugs, plugs worked for a few days which makes me wonder if it isnt a spark issue(bad coil pack?) but i'm by far a mechanic and im just ready to throw my hands up and take this thing in on trade for another brand / year.

anyone able to get anything off of this? is there a way to bypass this code?

08 enclave 1516
So it appears if I take off the pigtail off the TB and put it back on it clears the code for long periods of time and then eventually resurfaces. The TB also struggles to open when fault occurs. Is it just me or would that narrow it down the the actual TB assembly itself or the pigtail. I think I have isolated it to this area. Problem is they both cost a good bit to replace so I am going to get a multimeter out this weekend and check voltage on the pigtail. Any feedback would be appreciated.

honestly I don't know anything about enclave's but if it is exactly the same code mine has got, I would start with the TB and the pigtail. that seems to be the general idea from what I've read. some people say clean the TB but idk I haven't seen a lot who have had luck with that. I hope you have better luck than I do at this. also check the yellow wire on your TB, sometimes that breaks inside and causes issues(why most say just replace the pigtail) check out amazon, delco parts for a good price.

I don't know if this will fix your problem or not BUT, im on two days now with this... maybe it'll stick maybe it wont but atleast it comes with the pigtail and is somewhat cheap. good luck!

silverado p1516
Alright, have 2003 silverado HD,6.0. p1516 code. To solve problem follow ground from battery down to engine block, driver side, about mid block. Remove this ground, find 2 grounds there,1 from battery and 1 smaller wire from ?. Clean this ground area with dremel tool and reconneted, problem solved

03 silverado,6.0,1516 code, this problem seams to be related to temperature.live in southeast wisconsin.code started in late december when we got some very cold temps, single digits and wind chills -20's.this thing was going off 2 or 3 times every day{back and forth to work} then about second week of jan. temps warmed to high 20's over night and upper 30's-40" daytime.had no codes during that time.now temps dove back to single digits and code came back.it also is better if i let truck warm up for 10 mins. before i leave.anyone else notice this in cold climates

Throttle
The P2135, clean TB and idle relearn and replace the TP cover are all for the 07 new body trucks. Not to say the 03-07 can't have some of the same issues but they typically are just reduced engine power and P1516s and 1-2 correlation codes. The ultimate fix would be a throttle cable retrofit. I've yet to have my throttle cable set codes or go into reduced power mode. Damn those unreliable throttle cables.
