Considering the crank sensor solution, you're probably right. Lol

Fuel pump is fine. Cheap Ebay gauge is wrong. Ran it as far out of gas as I could last night then filled up with Shell 93. Seems to be running worse. I'm the world's biggest pessimist but I think the motor is eating itself. My oil pressure is dropped from the 50 lb range to the 25 lb range the last month or so.Can not get it over 3500 or so. When my buddy picked me up in it last night my PLX had recorded a boost reading of 12 psi. I know that can't be right.

It's official. Quarter inch of crank endplay is just a little excessive.

Carolina Machine and Engine. Wasn't the smoothest transaction ever. After 3 phone conversations discussing lq4 vs lq9 style build I gave them the cam specs Comp gave me and told them to build me a lq4. When they shipped he gave me the part number to the cam he used which ended up being a size smaller than the specs I gave him. Was planning on letting it slide until we unwrapped it and saw a 4.8/5.3 casting on the block. After 3 more months and quite a few phone calls I finally got what I ordered. Told me they ported and polished the heads since I had to wait so long but the ports looked like stock castings to me. But I wouldn't necessarily know the difference for sure. I've done way too much reading and not enough time wrenching over the years.

Sound slike you need to put the theory youve learned reading to practice.... Thats crap!!! Id have gotten a refund after the first engine showed up as a 5.3, and found someone else to buy it from... Thats just flat out ridiculous!!!!

Definitely should've told them where to shove it. Unfortunately I was in the last few months of a downward spiral from an addiction to pain killers that cost me my marriage, a 21 year career at UPS, and my house before I saw the light. When I was working for UPS and doing windows on the side I had more money and could afford to pay someone else to do the work. Now I have to do it as much as I can myself. Luckily I've got a couple of mechanic buddies who trade vehicles enough that we can swap tinting their projects for helping me on mine.
