Default HPT Help!!! Idle runaway problems

Hey Guys I need some help dialing in a few things on Kurt's (02_Orange_D1SC) truck. His truck drives fine, and at WOT its good... Hell it even idles well in park and in gear. The problem I'm running into is that just a slight tap of the gas and Idle runs away on me. It jumps to 2k, hovers there for 10-15 seconds and drops back down. The strange thing is that it jumps to 2k even when there was only enough throttle input to see 1200 RPM. When it does die its next start is usually a hard one.

I have played with Idle airflow and IAC tabled but I'm not really seeing any improvement. Adjusting the IAC table higher only seemed to have made it more sensitive to surging and stalling.

His AFR while idling hovers around high 14, and it sounds great. I just cant really figure out what is wrong with it. Of course I'm wet behind the ears when it comes to a lot of this, and I haven't tuned an IAC car before. Needless to say I'm stumped.

If anyone is willing to help I can email you the HPTuners tune file and logs we have. Either post up your email address or shoot me an email at RobNap129@gmail.com.

I appreciate the help... hopefully we can get this figured out. He'd like to go racing this friday.

It seems the IAC is set more by speed than coolant temp... unless I'm missing something.

IAC count is the idle air control valve position, basically 0 (fully closed) to 300 (fully open). You should log it in the scanner, you generally want it between 50 and 250 during all conditions.

Set the follower and cracker settings back to stock.

I think Atomic got it. It sounds like the follower is too high. Adding too much air when TP% changes.
