Default Header install

Hi guys,

So I had headers installed yesterday, (no cats for now) and I am wanting to know what I need to change to get the tune right?

I have HPT but I am unsure of what I need to update after the header install.

Thanks in advance,

Default tune file

yes, you will need to change your fuel trims, shoot for - 0 +
at 65mph on your LTFT's for good cruising. prob need to touch
up your low speed trims also.

Quick question.... would that be on a tuned vehicle or factory setted?

You should just say, do a VE and MAF tune as thats the proper way to do things. While using a wideband. The reason is because you added more flow the exhaust, changed the spots where the factory o2 sesnors were and just plain and simple the stock tune is pretty far off on the VE table. Only because the truck can be driven anywhere at anytime but anyone, thats why they made it the way they did and it can always be made better.

From reading your SIG for the vehicle, you will want to delete all REAR o2 sensor related codes. You also want to keep the rear o2 sensors plugged in but they don't have to stay in the exhaust. If you leave them unplugged the truck will go into a cat test mode that you can't shut off. If you had a wideband you'd see the huge swings in AFR as it does this on and off all the time while you drive. Keep the sensors plugged in allow for only 1 test after the truck hits closed loop and then it won't do it again on that drive cycle. I've been down this road already.

Or you can just do the codes part of it and leave it. It won't hurt anything but it just won't be as good as it can be.

Thanks everyone,

I've got my STFT right at 0 (they swing a little) and my LTFT at -3 to -5.

It does pull like a freight train.

The rear o2s were already off.
