Default shift points

So i did my first dead stop pull on 8lb of boost. My question is why after i hit 5,000 rpm the boost starts dropping. My shift points are set at 6000. What should i lower them to??

I dont see why the boost would drop.. the T70 should have enough breath for a good 10-12# on 5.3...

i have the base STS turbo.. 60mm and im shifting out at 5800ish cause it feels like it falls on its face after that.. but i think thats a exhaust housing restriction..

what Kpa are you seeing? i see 136 on your scan..

it falls to 45kpa? Thats vacuum man.. 95-105kpa is atmospheric (key on, engine off reading).

almost sounds like you have a boost leak or something.. you have a BOV??

Here i made up this graph so you can see what i'm talking about.
Where the rpm drops that the shift poits.

ok i DLed ur scan..
are you using a boost controller?
your boost is all over the place.. and it doesnt have but 13xkpa in first but it goes up to 145ish Kpa in 2nd and 3rd...

Seems like you have a boost controller acting up?

i see what your talking about now... nice graph!!

your boost is falling when your rpms are rising..
my first boost controller did that to me, now i have something rigged up and it works great.

the boost controller i have now works perfect.

I think it's pretty normal for a manual boost controller to drop a little bit of boost up top. Mine still does that too. I've been playing with spring pressures in the wastegate, and it's reduced it a bit, but it still drops about 2-3 psi in the high RPM's. I'm just going to deal with it....not worth it to me to put in an electric boost controller to get it back.
