Default Cammed tune on stock motor?

I had a tsp low lift 2 cam (216/218 550 112lsa i think),tsp headers, cai in my 03 Sierra 5.3. Destroyed my stock 4l60 in a matter of hours. Had 309whp. Sold that motor a planned to put my cammed 6.0 in with a 80e but am gonna have to hold off on the built 80 for a while. So I bought the whole drivetrain out of a 06 Silverado 5.3/4l60. Installed motor with the cai and headers still. Drives really good really responsive, over all great other then idles at 750 (so did the cammed motor after tune). Is it safe to drive it for a while until I can have it tuned? Does not smell rich at idle or anything.

I woulnd't beat on it, but you should be able to just drive it normal.

The cammed tune likely runs more timing and could have a leaner or richer air fuel ratio at full throttle that worked with the cam setup and might not be as forgiving on a stock NA motor with regular pump fuel.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. I'm still using premium 93 octain fuel.

Do you really need a built 80E? Maybe stock will work can you can install sooner.

Need a built 80 I probably don't. But the next part I was buying was turbo kit or supercharger. I would need one after that for sure. I will never trust a 4l60 or 700r4. Seen and had too many not last. I'm kinda paranoyied about the 60s.

Have someone check your LTFT's and STFT's to see how far off the tune is - I bet it's not much different in the fueling, but the timing is where youd need to be careful. even then I bet youre safe.

I can look at the fuel trims with my scanner. I will give it a shot. Thanks.
