Since the different systems use different plugs we would need to know what your using, but I found this on tech for you. Maybe it will help?

I believe GMT 800 Silverado's from

99-00 use terminal L
01-04 use terminals L and F.
05-07 Classic used Terminal F

I also found this S I L P connector view. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...ese/cs130d.jpg

Hope this helps some.

I figured it out. no wiring harness, or operating system. i'm building a carbed ls2 this time around. I just ran one of the pins to a keyed 5v source. bingo.

this helps:

I just wish it said what the L and I terminals are for. I only hooked up the L pin to a 5v source. I left I alone. hopefully I don't burn anything.

Are there any local Alt/starter rebuild shops that could tell you what each wire does ?

the light is there to drop 12v down to 5v I believe. I had a 5v source so I skipped out on the light. a resister can also be used to drop the voltage.

Pink/Black might be your field duty cycle signal from a regulator, unless the alt has one built in. I don't remember the difference between 2 pin vs. 4 pin alts.

This is the 01-04 connector.
