I've tuned a couple 4.3's, they have some good power left in them especially if you have a light truck. It's the usual PE Fix, tune VE, tune spark, remove TM, and you're pretty much done.

hey some people cant afford that haha...and i would definately lean towards the 5.3 or 6.0 swap...but you keep tellin me i cant make my 4.3 at least run with your 6.0 so I am gonna try haha. Any ideas on how to solve traction problems?

There are a couple of places in Kansas City. If you stick with the 4.3, expect to spend a chunk of change.

Dogsofjune- I noticed you are working on turboing your 4.3 are you doing a rear mount or upfront? And where did you find the kit for it? Apparently I am not looking hard enough.

Turbo upfront using SyTy manifolds. Nobody, trustworthy, makes a bolt-on kit.

Are you gonna use all the piping and everything from the ty and sy's? Also since we are vortec is that gonna have any effect on how well it runs? I am not quite sure exactly how different the 2 motors are but I do know that the first gen 4.3's were a little different...so what exactly is the difference?

i have a buddy that has an S-10 extreme 4.3L that is running pretty strong. he has only ever made it out to the 1/8th mile track but he is running mid 9's in it. he has shorty's, cai, plugs, wires, tb spacer, minor tranny mods, electric fan and then was street tuned by Nelson.
