Default "06 tahoe VS. 1500

I have my "06 5.3 Tahoe custom tuned by blackbear. I have a friend with a "06 1500 with a 5.3. Will the tune be close or not at all? I would think gearing in the rearend would be the only issue? Thanks.

I have an email into him to have him tune the silverado. I was curious how close the are.

I was considering comparing what he did on my Tahoe and getting the tune for the Silverado close to it. OR would you need to start from scratch?

Sounds like a plan. I don't think getting my feet wet tuning is a good idea on a friends truck anyhow just in case something goes wrong. But having a tune that might be very similar would help insure that I didn't get anything too far out of wack.

just make small adjustments, take your time and do lots of datalogging and you shouldn't dangerously out of whack. starting off with a custom tune from one vehicle in a different vehicle will make you more likely to cause damage. if anything use datalogs from your tahoe as a comparison to the datalogs from the friends truck so you have a visual of what your tune should end up producing but don't mimick the tables when making adjustments. even though they're similar powertrains what is safe for one vehicle might be damaging to the other.
