Why did you choose a truck for performance?

I bought my truck so I wouldn't have to drive my camaro everyday and could haul my quad and other toys.
Then I had to get rid of my camaro so the truck got all the attention.... For now...
I'm going to get another camaro eventually but not before the truck gets a new drivetrain. I'll really miss working in a truck engine bay

Bought mine when I was a senior in high school so I could pull my dads boat and by Toyota trail rig. Never occurred to me that it could be "fast" until I found this site and now I will spend the rest of my life modding it lol. What could be better than being fast and being able to tow 6,000lbs when necessary and make the occasional Home Depot run?

Like many above, simply because it's what I had. Saves money rather than buying another vehicle.
Now, there's something to be said about making a heavy brick fast. I was destroying most street cars and performing respectably against race or trailered vehicles. That made it extra fun (on top of how fun drag racing is, regardless of whether i was running 14s or 10s).
That all being said, when it comes down to it, going fast in a sports/muscle car is easier, and would allow one to push it further while still maintaining complete street reliability.

i'll say it's much cheaper to go fast with a lighter vehicle. My heads/cam fully natural aspirated 6.0 s10 was a lot faster than my heads/cam/150nitrous 408 Silverado. the s10 went 6/10 faster to the 1/8 and I never even gave the truck any timing LOL. imagine what the s10 would have done with the 250 shot I had sitting to the side. I want to see someone like blown06 pull a drivetrain from a fast Silverado and stuff it into a s10 and let it rip.
but everyone has a fast Camaro...not as many have a fast truck (unless you're in texas). I prefer trucks...every once in a while I have to stop myself from buying a RCSB 4x4 because I know where it would lead me.
sorry to get off topic
