Its probably the furthest thing you can get from performance these days, but its pretty nice! 28k miles but for some reason still has some new car smell left. Its a pig and definitely feels like driving a 7000 pound vehicle, especially with 240hp, but somehow it can still get out of its own way every now and then...while getting 27.5mpg highway! It will be staying almost 100% stock. Looking into a little bit of stereo work and maybe an engine calibration from a company here in Michigan. At the cost of some NOx emissions and leaving all DEF/DPF/EGR/etc equipment in place, you can pick up 4mpg, 30hp and 65tq while staying within the limits of the turbocharger. Sounds like a fair trade to me! They don't have access to the transmission (yet?), so that all has to stay as it is. I can pull the transmission software and calibration off of the database at work...but I have no idea what I'm looking at lol. All in all, it seems like a pretty solid machine. I won't be driving it much but when I need it, its a pretty good compromise between a car and a truck.

Your homosexual tendencies affect the picture size...

Haven't had time to play with the truck actually.

Don't worry, with a big enough turbo anything can be worthwhile!

You think that one feels like a pig, my 2500 is horrible to drive in the city. Specifically parking and forget about making a u-turn. I'm talking about my 2012 Dodge 2500 with a cummins. I had a 2006 2500 with a cummins before this one (bought both brand new) and the 2006 was awesome to drive. The front suspension felt tons better even on the highway and the turning radius was probably half of what my 2012 is.

I can't for the life of me figure out why dodge thought is was a good idea to totally **** the front suspension up on the newer trucks when the older ones were better.

Definitely have not had that experience. I've only ridden in a 2012 2500 mega cab ram, never driven one. But I towed ol' Spoolins truck to LA from AZ with a 2006 2500 mega cab, and we'll just say that he's lucky to have a truck after that journey. The steering was the worst I've ever experienced. 100k miles and every ball joint and bushing was totally trashed. Took every bit of concentration I had to keep that rig between the lines. That experience crossed my mind while shopping for ecodiesels, but nobody I've heard of has had any complaints about steering on the new 1500s.

Speaking of towing... You should ask poor Rey about his truck after the 5,000 + mile road trip...

It took a beating like a champ though. He tried to drum up some races in Alton and they were skeptical of the truck on the trailer, then He said "How about the big truck?" They wouldn't even race the tow rig...

A good friend of mine ran out and bought one when they first came out. Nice truck, but his was a lemon. It kept leaving him stranded. After 9K miles and weeks of aggravation, he gave up and traded it in on a tundra. Didn't keep that long either - he complained about the horrible fuel mileage compared to the Ram. Now he's recently purchased an F150 2.7L ecoboost. So far, so good according to him...
