my turn for plasti dip
#35
product ordered. DYC announced a sale today of 20% off so i jumped on. i got the pro car kit that comes with a spray gun, paint mixer, 5 gallons of dip, some microfiber towels and a resperator. i added a gallon of glossifier since i wasnt wild about the flat color and want more of a satin finish.
2 gallons of gun metal gray as a base/primer
2 gallons of anthracite gray
1 gallon of aluminum
1 gallon of glossifier.
the plan is to lay down the gun metal base coat then mix a bucket of 2 gallons of anthracite to 1 gallon of aluminum. lay down a few coats until full coverage and add the glossifier to whatever is left of the anthracite/aluminum mix to get the satin finish that i want.
with the shipping and discount it came out to $440. about the cost of a mayco paint job lol. hopefully i can do a better job. before spraying i need to replace the windshield, have the head liner wrapped and get a few things on the body touched up.

Looks good brother!
I think you'll love the look, and probably so much easier to keep clean too. You should think about clearing it afterwards. When I plasti-dipped my Van the rubber/dip would show rock strikes and scratches. Also be careful when you fill it up, any solvent will start to eat the rubber. I think they make a hardener for it don't they?
