Default Trans or something else?

Hi to all.. My name is Steve.. I have a 2011 Silverado 3500 HD SRW LTZ ..the engine is a 6.0 liter Vortec 1000 VVT V8 SFI gasser..transmission is a 6 Speed automatic with tow haul button.. rear axle 4.10 ratio. I haul about every weekend a Lance truck camper that weighs approximately 3400 pounds. This is a two-part question I have. I find that the powerband to the transmission is horrible when on the highway I have to constantly step on the throttle and have it downshift to maintain speed. I step on the throttle just a little bit I get nothing I have to step on the throttle much more to get it to downshift to try and maintain speed. The second part of my question is when the truck is not loaded I'm at low speeds I step on throttle at times the throttle doesn't respond right away and the truck has a herky-jerky feel when trying to gain speed. I had Justin from Black Bear do a custom tune but really didn't help the situation. Any help given would be appreciated thanks in advance.

Nice looking rig.....
I would get back in touch with Justin and see what can be adjusted. The drive by wire system seems to have issues balancing all the inputs.

Da fuq? 373 gears will make you have to kickdown MORE.

Does it have AFM? If it does, is it going into v4 mode? If so, have Justin turn that **** off. You'll get better fuel mileage.

The kickdown issue is in the TCC setting. It's very very conservative from the factory. Basically increasing the numbers increases the "clamping" pressure of the clutch making it hold the gear longer before unlocking.

It's the tune. With 410s you should be able to tackle a nice steep hill without it unlocking.

6.0's are VVT only in the 2500/3500.

Sometimes just putting it into manual 5th gear on the shift selector stops the lugging around that 6th gear always gives.

no to the AMF....I did get in touch with Justin he said he changed the shift patterns but not in the tow-haul mode. I told him it wasn't much better in tow-haul.

I will give it a try this weekend. I'v been thinking about a turbo, super charger or a pro charger. Not sure what that will do to gas mileage.
