anybody got any pics or experience? i remember a while back on here a guy with a single cab white z71 did one.cant remember his name. im thinkin about doin one this comin up year on mine instead of a 6inch suspension, id much rather ditch the ifs front.

Many companies make 6" kits, but none make a SFA kit for an 00' especially if its a 1/2 ton. The main reason is cost. You will need a new transfer case if you have auto track, a dana 60 from a late 70's f-250/350 for the front, and a 14 ff bolt in the rear (there are other set ups but this is one of the strongest and most common) You alson will need new driveshafts, spring packs, shocks etc, etc.

The only company that makes a bracket to accept the new front axel for 1/2 tons is fabritech. Be warned though, good product and horrible customer service

My buddy paid for the brackets and didnt get them untill 6MONTHS later!!!

Be prepared to spend between 10-15K on this swap, and thats if you do most of the work yourself, though well worth it. Nothing looks better than a sfa Z

ive been doin soem searching and i will be able to do it for way less than 10-15k. i dont have autotrac, and i know lots of places locally to find axles.even those hard to find ford d60's with the drivers side drop.i will be doing all the work myself . i mainly just wanted a kit to help with the bracketry, i found one of those at offroadunlimited . so well see what happens, thanks for the info guys

ORU only makes brackets for the 2500 and 3500

Fabritech is the only company that makes 1/2 ton brackets for NBS 1500's

Just don't assume all Ford D60's are created equal. The 77.5-79 F-250SF'er/F-350 D60 is completely different animal than a 93 F-350 D-60 or an 03 D60.

$15k for doing all the work yourself is pretty darn high but $10k happens if you buy new parts and rebuild the old housings with lots of goodies.

Not if you do it properly. The last OBS SFA Chevy my buddy did was 17K all said and done, but thats the best of everything, and he did all his own work.


If your gonna do it, dont skimp on the goods, and have someone with lots of axle experience rebuild your donor d60 and 14ff

here are some pics of a tahoe i have seen. if you find a good set of ford axles for 2k or less (shop around) and can have those rebuilt for around 600 with new gears with out lockers. and if you can weld and use a ban saw you can build your own spring hangers. you are looking probably in the 8k range depending on what wheels and tires you go with. now if you go do a show truck and want to buy everything off the shelf that is a direct bolt on then yeah mabey you can pay 17k.

i found a set of 60s on ebay for 1500 that already rebuilt. cant beat that
