I sold the truck to my buddy a month ago, and thats exactly what we are going to do, a cable.

Easier to make that work then a bunch of linkage.

I'm not sure what the years of trucks are in this swap, but would the VSS from a 1995-98 Chevy Silverado be directly compatible with a 2005 Chevy van? It appears that you just left the sensor that came with the NP241 in place and ran wires to the truck wires.

I thought they simply supplied the signal for the speedometer on the dash but it appears they do quite a bit more and could render the vehicle undrivable if they are incompatible.

Yes i left the VSS from the 90's 241. It was a NBS 99 that it went into.

Purple and green wires, and it will work. Just a pulse generator.

We're you going to use a Chevy shifter? That seems to be my biggest obstacle at this point - selecting a shifter assembly that goes to the flat floor in the van and can use a cable. I'm considering these:

- (top) shifter out of a 97-06 TJ Jeep (tunnel mount so it would be close to the floor)
- (middle) out of a 87-96 YJ Jeep (floor mount, had the NP231 t-case)
- (bottom) shifter out of a 94-97 Dodge Ram (floor mount, had the NP241 for Dodge)

Fabrication would be needed for all of them, I'm just trying to figure out which one will require the least. I'm not sure what kind of shifter would make the best candidate.

And that is excellent news about the VSS!

Thanks!
