Default new to me 01 3500 4x4 torsion bar question

Just got this truck, 197k, its a base with the manual 4wd lever on the floor, 6 liter, auto, 4.10's and its very tight for it's age and mileage. This is my first torsion bar equipped 4x4 and even though I have searched on here, I really haven't found a clear answer. I'd like to level the truck off more and raise the front end a inch or two, can I simply crank the bars to gain this small amount of lift or will this cause more problems then its worth? Truck rides and handles pretty damn good, no rattles, squeaks or funny shimmys goin down the road. so if there's a chance I'll screw any of that up, i'll just live with the slight rake.

Yes you can raise it that way, but you will need to have your alignment corrected and it will ride more harshly. Depending how much you tow or haul it might be worthwhile to drop the back instead of raising the front.

I'd remove the lift block or install a set of shackles if it was me.

I won't want to mess with the torsion bars and upset the ride quality.
