Default Help!? 3 cams to choose from for towing?

Hey guys, i've searched and never really got a good answer. I have Gen IV LMG 5.3 with 9.9:1 compression ratio, 1-3/4 Arh headers, Airaid Jr kit, Dod delete kit with LS6 valve springs, good to .570 lift, and will have 4.30 gears with 31.6" tires. I tow around 6500-7000lbs. Just looking for a general all around good cam that DOES NOT loose any low end torque and possibly gain some but still pulls to over 6000 Rpm. I do not want to change my converter since i pull through some steep hills for long periods of time. I do have a tru-cool 40k cooler. Also Blackbear's 91 tune.

My choices recommended by comp.

Xr259hr 112 LSA 54-408-11
Xr265hr 114 LSA 54-412-11
Xr269hr 114 LSA 54-414-11

What would you guys recommend. Comp cams wasnt to helpful

So I've narrowed it down to just 2, after 4 hours of research. Between Comp and Vinci.

Comp Cams XR265HR 54-412-11 114LSA Dur @ .50'' Lift-212/218 , Lift .522/.529
Vinci 112 Butt Kicker 114LSA Dur @ .50'' Lift-210/218 , Lift 551/551

i would go with the vinci or BTR truck stage 2 cam. with the 243/799 heads you have they flow good up to around .550" lift where they start to level out.

I have the Vinci 112 Butt Kicker in my LQ4. It's a great tow cam. Didn't dyno but feels stock or stronger from 2000 rpm up. Has a really nice pull starting around 3000 and then by 4000 it's really moving. Works great because when my 4L80E drops into 2nd on long climbs it puts me at about 3800-4000 rpm. How convenient...

I pull the lever into 2 on the long climbs and I can usually back of the pedal and it will just motor on up. I pull in the mountains a lot. My 5th wheel grosses 7800 lbs plus I pull a tiny flat deck behind that with dirt bikes.

You won't regret that cam. I've had it in a year now and I still love it.

Thanks for all the info guys. I ended up going with the VHP Buttkicker 210/218 .551/.551 114lsa 109 ICL. After speaking with Roger about a custom ground cam. He recommended it would be best with what i have. I may not gain any torque under 2k-2500 rpm but after that it will pull hard from there compared to stock. I also talked to a few other companies and they recommend i stay with 206-212 on intake and stay under 220 on exhaust duration to not lose any low end torque under 2500 rpm, and with headers, intake and 243 heads .551 lift would be ideal. Which is around max flow for stock 243's. And the LSA from 112-116. I chose 114 to give it nice lope and pass the sniffer without question. Everyone recommend a 2600 stall and i am still debating that since i tow my travel trailer through some steep grades. I will be pulling my motor out to do a complete new gasket kit and would be my best chance to install the stall. A local shop has a new Circle-D 300mm 3A 2400-2600 converter for $350. What is your guys opinions on a stall towing around 6500 lbs.

Last thing. Everyone told me i can not gain any low end torque from a aftermarket cam under 2k rpm without going with a smaller than stock cam on the 5.3. Which i would loose out on max torque and HP.

No aftermarket cam that I am aware of adds any significant torque under 2k RPM. However, I would like to point out that with 4.30 gears I can't imagine you spend any time under 2k. Even with my 3.90s and similar tire I am above 2k 80% of the time. I cruise at 2200rpm@70mph.

Im right at 2k rpms at 65 which is perfect. I motor spends most of its time between 2k and 4500 rpms when im towing, i may push it to 5k but rarely. After talking to Roger once again, he says the cam choice is almost ideal. The only thing he may have changed is lower the exhaust duration to 216. 210/216 .551/.551 114+2. But it would not pull as hard from 3200-3500 rpm.
