I would at the very least get 4.56's, Maybe mileage is a big concern to you tho. **** Im hoping to get better mileage with my 5.13 as I was only getting 10MPG with the 3.73.

well you're also running that cam with a stock converter - that'll kill a bit. your truck's over 1000lb heaver, looks lifted, and has a 4L60 so i wouldn't expect your mileage to be as high as a reg cab & manual.

similar to you, it's hit or miss if i use 4th or 5th at 50mph depending on hills, traffic, wind, etc. however, if i went to 4.56s, it'd almost be like 4.30s & stock 245s - which is fine for auto trucks but the manuals are already geared a bit lower & i don't pull that heavy of trailers often enough to justify always running at 2500rpm during highway cruise.

well... i finally was in a spot to get the gears!!
ran with the Motive 4.30s & threw a TrueTrac in while it was apart. worst part was definitely the bill - heck, the yukon master kit for the front was more than the gears!

it sure drives like it's got some oomph back, though. obviously can't get on it for another 400 miles or so, but it drives a lot better again. glad i picked 4.30.

it does slightly engine brake above 65, but nothing bad.

overall, the 4.30s were pretty good for the 50k mi i ran them - especially after adding a 219/224 113° cam. RPMs went to the moon above 70mph, though.

...that said, after caving in on a transmission swap to the nv4500, i was about to swap down to 3.42s due to the drastically-different gear set but sold the truck for one with a back seat instead (only because the stars aligned when one became available).
