Hello everyone. Purchased a 2000 sierra 2500 2wd to haul a 5th wheel. Was going to get a 26 to 30 footer around 6 to 9000 lbs. I had an unbelieveable deal fall into my lap and bought a 36 foot at 11000 lbs. Incredible trailer.I know it's a bit too heavy for the truck. Have any of you towed something like this with a similar truck? Engine is a 6.0 heavily modified,fresh 4l80e,4.10 gears,posi rear,air bags, oh and it's a long bed.

Even if your engine can handle it, have to check the axle rating. Is there a payload or GVW and GVWR on the door somewhere?

What does "heavily modified" mean? Usually that means less low rev pulling power and more top end scream power that is pretty useless for towing.

My truck is a 2000 2500 6.0. I've done a small cam, headers, and worked over 706 heads and a tune. It pulls my 8500lb load ok (5th wheel and small trailer behind with quad and bike on it). Wouldn't want to pull any more really if there are any sizeable hills at all. Id say 11,000 is too much. Too much for the truck anyway. You'll likely be considerably over the GAWR of the rear axle.

You'll want some deep-*** gears, a big cooler and lots of cash for the gas that bitch is gonna be swillin'
