Charcoal canister, with a fuel shut off in the event of a rollover. E85 systems are very strong smelling, and can stink up a garage in a few days.

Bump. I'm about to jump on a tig welder and want to see what everyone else uses. And more fab pics of course.

I'm interested to see what amperage, tungsten, rod, ect was used in fab pics.

well there are several things you need ask yourself.

what will you be welding and how thick?
BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET?
Do you want to have a somewhat portable machine?
Do you want a water cooled machine?

I have used the following machines in order from my favorite to least favorite

Miller Dynasty 350
Miller Dynasty 200
Miller Syncrowave 350 LX
Lincoln Square Wave 175

The amperage range depends on the type of material and how thick it is. It takes a lot more amperage to weld aluminum compared to stainless.

My at home machine the Lincoln 175, retail they are around 1900 and I paid 750 for it without a torch and it was about 4 months old.

The machine at the shop is a Miller Dynasty 350 and it is by far the nicest machine, but at 10K with all the bells and whistles it is hard to justify unless you make money with it.

The best bang for the buck is the Dynasty 200 with a Coolmate cooler but it is 5K.

Yea I'm past all that stuff. Just like to see what everyone around here is running and some good pics like above. I don't have the funds for a miller but might go down that road if I get serious about fabrication.
