Default Good stick welder? (jk...wire feed instead)

I'm looking to get a little welder to help with small stuff. For starters, I have a couple cracked welds in a trailer frame that need to be repaired, and I'll probably end up welding new fenders on as well.

I really don't want to mess with wire feeds and having to buy and store gas tanks. That being said, what's a good budget stick welder that will work off 110v? I've looked at Home Depot and Harbor Freight websites and they have so many I don't know what to make of them.

Hobart at TSC

They are made by miller, excellent machine.

I stick weld pretty much every day at work and can't tell the diff between the millers we use and the Hobart my good friend bought .

Hmmm , just saw you want 110 , you won't have enough *** with 110 most of the time , but I have used miller and Thermarc suitcase 110 welders for stick and they did a good job, they just don't like 1/8" rod .

I'd prefer to stick with 110 if possible because I don't have any 220 outlets anywhere near the garage. I suppose I could put one in if necessary, the breaker panel is on the outside garage wall.

Yep hobart welders are good never had problem with mine been through 4 or 5 10 pound spools of wire now. Stick welders are better but 110 ones dont get the job done imo amd you can run 220v single phase not hard to do if u wanted a 220v stick

Miller Maxstar150's are a nice duel voltage (110/220v) stick machine. A little pricy but high quality. I bought a Millermatic 211 wire feed duel voltage machine last year and LOVE it! Even on 110, still welds the thicker stuff like my turbo manifolds very well! Way hotter then my old Millermatic 130 did (both running on 110v) and I can plug it in anywhere.

Think of this too, if you buy a good welder now, it will hold its value. It's a quality investment. If you buy a cheap welder, it won't be worth much if you ever want to sell it.

The Miller thunderbolt is a nice 220 machine machine that will not break the budget at all (450-500), the similiar model in the hobart is just as nice

I have a dual use Hobart mig welder, can use on house current or switch to 220 if needed.

I just sold a maxstar 200, that's been the best suit case welder I've ever used. You can weld just about anything with it. Tig/stick
