Why exactly are you guys so hellbent on sticking with the inferior 99-00 OS?

Who's hellbent besides you???

When you swap from a 99-00 OS you need to make minor changes to the calibration so you don't get a false check engine light.

99-00 is wired different from 01-02 for the charging system.

Only inferior tuning products require that...

And? IIRC, correcting this entails nothing more than turning off a single DTC.

For efans on 99-02: 01-02 OS, F-body fan settings (customize on/off temps to your desire), 145a alt, and OEM harness with appropriate pinning. Yes, you don't have control of the fans based on a/c pressures, however I have yet to encounter a single problem without them. Some have wired in switches to turn on the fans manually, which is also fine.

You have to change the charging terminal in the truck OS. I have never messed with the car OS so I am not sure.

99-00 are wired with 1 wire 01-02 use 2 wires. you have to change them from on to off as I mentioned before.

Right, all I am saying is that the benefits of the newer OS outweigh the minimal work needed to convert.

Carry on.

99-00 OS charging

01-02 OS charging

These are Stock tables in EFI Live you have to modify the 01-02 to look like the 99-00 by turning off the F terminal
The HPT table is similar but uses 0 for OFF and 1 for ON.

I would burn up a relay every 6 months. That delay allows fan 1 to turn on and get the fans up to half speed, then fan 2 kicks on and the fans don't draw as many amps since they are allready turning..

If I have a 2000 model and order an aftermarket wiring that taps into the A/C wire, I don't need to worry about fan #2 do I?????

Default what OS to use?

just finished wiring in my 05 efan harness into my 2000 ecsb 1500. fans turn off on with HP tuners fine. it'll be ahwile before I get the truck running to actually test fans that way.

fastbrick mentioned a newer os? I have no problem spending more credits if my fans will work. please advise. longtime listener on here.

ETA: more searching tonight revealed that 1fastbrick has already written about this.
