Default On 3 Performance 340lph Fuel Pump Install

I have quite a few customers ask how to install the pump and want to be sure they are doing it correctly. This is really a very easy install and the most difficult part is lifting the bed. Majority are going to lift the bed, you will also see some guys cutting access panels which works as well.

Once you have the bed lifted, its simple and you have the hard part out of the way. Unplug the wiring and disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel hat assembly. The ring that holds the basket is easily removed with a flat head and hammer. Just tap the ring around and will pop loose.

Here is the basket out of the tank with the pump installed. We run our 340lph On 3 fuel pump in all of our builds. One thing you need to do is run submersible fuel hose, yes its expensive. You dont want to have to remove the bed a second time. This will happen if you do not and cost you more money on a tow:

To install the new pump, just split the plastic hose at the regulator and pull the pump/hose out of the basket. You will notice the barb on the pump is 5/16" and the regulator in the basket is 3/8". I used a brass union to step the size as you can see in the photos. The pump loosely fits in the basket, there is a rubber isolator in the pump kit that you can run around it to help keep it secured in place. Make sure to run some good hose clamps, I always like to run the fuel injection clamps when possible(it was late and Napa was closed and I was 1 short). Lastly would be to just clip the factory plug and splice in the pigtail we supply with the fuel pump.

Hopefully this will help a few customers and possibly other people not 100% on what they are doing. Our fuel pumps are $89 so if you have a fuel pump upgrade in your future, let us know
