Default SINGLE CAB Silverado Subs? How big can u fit?

As of now I have two 10's behind each seat in my 1999 regular cab Silverado. I know that other people have subs in their reg cabs, but I was looking at making just one single big box and mounting the sub in the center between my bucket seats. The problem now, will not be having the amount of air, but the depth of the sub. What kind of subs are you guys using in your single cabs and what are the depths of the subs? I'm just wondering if i can fit a Solo Baric L7 12", it's mounting depth is 6 13/16... do you guys think it would fit?

Can you stretch a box all the way across your back wall or does the console get in the way? If you can stretch one all the way across, get 1 10" and port it and amaze your friends at the output of 1 10" woofer. www.ficaraudio.com www.reaudio.com

They make excellent woofers. Fi audio has better prices and the product is identical in build quality.

do you mean 2 10s behind each seat = 4 subs total or 2 10s and 1 behind each seat for 2 10s total

id say the L7-12 should fit but go measure it first to be sure

What I want to do is stretch 1 box from one side of the cab to the other. And in the dead center put a nice 12"... that way it'd have plenty of air. As of now I have two seperate boxes. Each of which has one 10" in it. I'm just wondering if it would be deep enough to fit that 12 in!?

i just did a quick measurment and i have the fold-down jump seat center console and came up with about 9 1/2" depth in the center so an L7 should fit going by the measurements you gave in the initial post and figuring the MDF the box would be made from is what, about 1/2-3/4 " thick so 1- 1 1/2" thick for the thickness 8" inside thickness and you needed 6 13/16" for the sub so that is over 2.5" clearance in the back behind the sub

now there is considerablly less clearance behind the seats with them all the way back than in the center but you werent planning on subs back there were you

no I wasn't planning on subs back there... but wouldn't the box have to be the same depth the entire way across?

i wouldnt think so unless you're buying a pre-made box and then you probably couldnt get one to fit the way you need for this

a head's up i know NOTHING about car A/V

but i could build my self a box if needed and drill a hole for a sub to fit ( sealed box) but i couldnt do a ported or bandpass box, ive read a little but know just enough to get myself in trouble

i had a custom box built for my truck with 1 diamond 10. trust me if you have a good sub and good amp, it will be loud. everybody thought i had 2 12's it was so loud. btw i still have the box (built on a computer program bassboxpro i think) if somebody wants to buy it or wants me to take some measurements. the box fits perfect and is ported on the driver side and the sub is on the passenger side.
