bought a double din for my 04 Silverado. wanted to know what wire from the truck is your power wire? so I don't have to have my key turn on to where my lights and fuel pump come on. also has anyone installed this stereo, how do you turn it off. pushing the src. button doesn't really turn it off. it shows its off but you can touch the screen an it comes back on.

Yes ive done several. I just get the adapters that u can get damn near anywhere and splice it with that. I think i payed about 120 bucks for mine in order to keep onstar n stuff. Radio works like factory every time.

if you dont use a keyed ignition source and the ignition wire. there is no way to turn the radio completely off if you only have 12v going to it unless you use a toggle switch.

I had regular stereo than I had wired direct, I turned it off manually was not hooked up to the key..i had It like that so I wouldn't have to have the fuel pump and lights on when listening to music.. so how do yall listen to music when your truck is off, is your fuel pump an your dash lights on .?
I have this new stereo with the key and a switch.
