Default Factory Bose Sub and Amp in an '01?

I'm looking into getting an 03-06 console which comes with the factory Bose sub. Can this be hooked into an aftermarket or factory head unit in an '01? I am not a huge stereo guy, but I would like a little bit more pep from my current system, which has no bass whatsoever.

I don't see why it wouldn't. If you had to just run the wires straight to the cd player.

Not worth the hassle 03-07 are only intended to work with their original platform. Theres a chance you could but the crappy little bit it would add is no where near worth the hassle. It would be easier to add a aftermarket amp and sub or a aftermarket amp and power the tiny little 4 or 5 inch sub they put in those consoles.
