The stock CD player for an 06 truck...does it have an aux in? There was an aftermarket HU in my truck when I bought it.

why not keep aftermarket? factory units are overpriced and not worth it, unless you have one for free

I was thinking about selling my Kenwood nav unit for the extra $$ and using my Xoom tablet for navigation and music, but I think I'll just leave it alone. Sounds like a lot more work than it's worth.

man thats alot of good info, my head hurts reading all that. If it was my truck I'd do it, but since it's my buddy, I'll just tell him to buy an aftermarket cd player

Dude,

I'm with ya! Had I not had XM and not using it I wouldn't have tried this. I got a new alarm installed Friday by a member and also had them wire the aux jack up for me so I wouldn't have to even fool with buying a soldering gun.
