Default 2016 Project F150 Ecoboost by CARiD team

F150 remains one of the best selling trucks of America for decades, and we all know well why. It also became one of the most popular truck bases for modifications and customizing. There are hundreds of aftermarket upgrades available for this truck out of the box, so you can easily personalize it in any way you like it, whether it's a functional working truck, or a tough off-road monster. With all the choice of F150 parts and accessories at CARiD it would be wrong not to build our own ULTIMATE FORD F150, so we picked up this beautiful 2016 F150 Lariat with 3.5L Ecoboost engine in Blue Flame Metallic color!

Our project build will show you how to create the truck of your dream right in your garage!

The first video of our Project F150 is coming soon!

Today we are glad to present you our next video about the installation of BORLA ATAK™ performance exhaust system on our project truck.
While everyone loves the efficiency and the boost of the turbocharger, the sound that is produced by this engine is just different from what we used to hear on V8 trucks.
If you were looking at something to make an EcoBoost sound more aggressive - Borla ATAK™ performance exhaust system will be the best solution.
It provides a deep rumbling sound on the full range of RPM. We did not expect a very big difference but the end result really surprised us!

Check out our video to see the installation process and listen to the sound comparison between the stock exhaust and Borla ATAK™ Cat Back!

What's up everyone we start this week with the next episode of our build thread "Project F150 EcoBoost"!
Today we are going to show you how to choose and install a performance tuner on your Ford truck.

Among dozens of fancy performance chips and tuners we chose Livernois Motorsports My Calibrator Tuner which offers a wide range of setups and provides a very impressive performance improvement.

In order to reach such impressive performance gains guys at Livernois make a custom tune for your own truck.
We provided them with general information about our truck and mentioned that it's already equipped with AEM performance air intake and Borla ATAK exhaust.
They've sent us a custom tune based on our specs which we downloaded in our programmer and plugged in to the computer of our truck using OBD-II port.
It only takes a few minutes to reprogram your truck, chose the operation mode and you're ready to go!

Our product expert Greg will guide you through the installation process of the Livernois Tuner and demonstrate the performance improvement in a road test!

Alright guys so we're in the midst of doing some more modifications to our project F150 which we will share with all of you soon! But while we are working tell us what you want to see installed next on our project truck! Maybe something that you have on your wishlist for your own truck or a new product in the industry you want to see reviewed!

Hi everyone, CARiD is here with another episode of our F150 project build! In this video we're going to show you how to install a 6" suspension lift kit by Pro Comp and large off-road tires on a late model Ford F150!
Lift kit is probably one of the most favorite mods of all truck fans and our team was very excited about this installation to say the least. While it's not a simple bolt-on like the ones you've seen in the previous episodes of our video blog, the installation of a lift kit also requires another pair of hands, so our product professor Richard stopped by to assist our host Greg with this installation.
Alright, now lay back and hit the Play button!

Want to get the same Lift kit and wheels for your own F150 truck? They're waiting for you on the pages of CARiD website:

and here's a couple of beautiful shots of the truck itself after the lift kit installation to top it all off!

Looks good, how come not many of these projects re-gear the differentials to accommodate the new tire sizes? The factory gears are not that great for cruising as it is with a 1600 rpm OD at 70mph.

I totally agree that gearing is a very important part. We'll do a couple of more test runs, to see how it behaves with the new wheels and consider installing proper gearing. The wheels are 35"s by the way.
