How many miles is it good for or dollars is it good for??

To me and many others, 170k isnt very high miles for any LS based motor. They are known to go 250-300k without real major issues. Shoot I'm at 258k with just some lifter tick and it doesnt even bother me.

I'd turbo it for sure. Run it till it gives up on life and then rebuild. Seen it many times were junkyard blocks with over 200k are slapped in cars and boosted to the moon and run great.

Put new lifters in it and valve springs and give her hell .

The original 5.3 that came in my truck had 183k , I cammed it and it ran well till a lifter took a dump . I soon swapped in the current LQ4 .

But tearing down the "old" 5.3 , all the cylinders still had crosshatching in them . I should have just put lifters in and called it good .

My van with LQ4/80e has close to 250k , it hasn't been tuned till this summer , and runs like raped ape . It's so hard not to sneak some forced induction on her ,
But I surprise a lot of people with it believe it or not .

Well they want 8800, is that a good price for 170k miles?

Cheaper than what you could get one for up here.

MN prices are alot higher for clean vehicles.
