Default Patriot Gold Springs

Im about to buy the patriot gold springs and Im not sure about buying the whole kit that you can get from patriot! The only reason I say that is cuz im on a budget and I dont want to buy stuff I dont neccessarly* need. My question is do I have to buy all that hardware or can I just get the springs and reuse the original harware as in the retainers, locks and vavle stem seals and spring bases...all the stuff that comes with the kit?

this would help if you gave us the specs. you can resuse stuff like locks and retainers but i opted for a whole kit when i did my swap bc i wanted to lighten the valvetrain.

You definately need the new bases and valve seals....might be about to reuse the stock retainers and locks, but it might be wise to call and ask first. I would just get the whole kit...

based on those specs. buy the kit. no need to have reliability worries with reused parts. porbably end up costing more in the long run. IIRC, the dual require new seats and retainers because they are different from the stock springs and you dont want the springs moving anything other than up and down. At that point, valve seals and locks are pennies.

btw, what is that cam going in? thats an awfully wide spread, L92 motor?

Ok then guess I will just give in and buy the kit... I called up Thunder Racing and asked a tech there what I was looking for...which was good torque throughout the whole powerband or as much as possible! I told him the motor setup which is a 6.0 with milled 317s, tbss intake, cai, stock torque converter which I would probably change to a 2800 was going in a ccsb! Told him I didnt want a real aggressive idle...wanted something that sounded stock and that I might throw some nos on it! After all the talk he suggested that cam with the patriot gold springs!
I wanted to run the l92 heads on the motor but was told that would not help as far as what I want!
