Default Final Stage of my New Fuel System

Here is the modified skid plate for the fuel tank:

A stainless steel pan and conduit straps, to protect this:

Here it is in place and painted flat black, the paint makes the pan completely invisible. Or at least I hope the tech guy at the drag strip doesn't notice it. I think it is safe, I just don't want to have to take it off to show what is under it.

Here is the pump and filter assembly on top of the transmission crossmember. You can just see the purple Y-fitting that splits the -10 line into two -8 lines that go to each fuel rail.

Now on to the testing.

What was wrong with pulling fuel from the top?

I don't know if you have followed the rest of the project:
https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=449284
There is a stock in-tank pump feeding a check valved tee, and a MagnaFuel MP-4301 picking up fuel from the bottom of the tank, and feeding the tee.

My problem with pulling fuel through the stock bucket is that if you do any cutting on the bucket, to put a bigger pump or another pick up, is that the bucket loses its ability to retain fuel, and you have to keep the tank above half full to keep from sucking air. At least this is my experience when I butchered another bucket to put a high-flow pump in.
The way it is now, the gas will go to the back of the tank when I mash on the pedal. The in-line will never run dry, because it will only run at more than 1 psi boost.

Yeah i kept up with it a little bit.

So through all of this development, what pump set-up would you recommend for a returnless type of set up?

What do I know? I'll make up an answer, though, if you want.
