Default Top Gear - Bugatti Veyron vs Mclaren F1

WOW. This is why numbers on a paper don't mean shit.

In wikipedia you find these specs on the Veyron

0-62 = 2.5
0-149= 8.6
0-249= 50

1/4 in 10.2 @ 143mph

Obviously the actual 1/4 time doesn't match the projected 1-149 time does it?

While the Mclaren is listed at
0-60 = 3.2
0-100= 6.3
0-150=12.8
0-200=28

1/4 11.1@ 138

So Top Gear put em side by side on a 1 mile drag race.

Friggin awesome race, I wonder what they trapped at.

You would think the veyron and its 4 turbos would have more balls off the line.

right around 200. Car and Driver did a 0-200 run a while back and it did 204 at the 1 mile mark. 0-200 in 24.2 seconds at 4700ft mark.

However the fastest was the Hennessey Viper doing 0-200 in 20.3 seconds at 3488ft mark and doing 100-200 in 13 seconds compared to Veyron's 18seconds

I saw that vid on tech and I asked the same question.
Doesn't make sense to me, I know the veyron weighs as much as our trucks but it still shoulda got the F1 out of the hole.
Well whatever! Love those guys, funny as shit!
