Default Can you run E85 with marine injectors?

I know the fuel rail and everything is different as well, but with the proper tuning, would you be able to run E85 fuel on a non-flex fuel engine?

I don't see any reason not to run it. If I remember correctly KBracing was running E85 with his stock truck intake and 42lb injectors.

yeah, i have been running it for a while now with those injectors. For tuning i just scaled down the injector values by the percentage of the difference in stoich value, i would have to look on my other computer for the tune but i think i entered them as 32lbs? Fuel trims are right on and my wideband says 12.6-12.9. Your wideband will still give you gasoline readings, which you should see the same numbers as gas.

Ya, you can run E85 on any injector as long has it's large enough to support the power you looking for. With E85, you need about 30% more fuel for the same power as gas.

I love the stuff and would run it more if I had good access to it. It's like running cheap race gas. If your not flex fuel, then you have to be tuned for it. If your not looking for max out of it, then it is possible to setup a tune using fuel trims to run both fuels but you will compromise both ways. Best power will come with tuning for the fuel your gonna run. The stock fuel system in these trucks is compatible with the ethanol fuel.

E85 doesnt have much advantage over gas does it? Other than a higher 'octane' rating right? no MPG gains? Just wondering cuz I dont see why it would be worth any trouble to jump thru all those hoops if you're not at least F.I.

Im pretty sure the mileage goes down. But the cost is less so it equals out.

I've seen mileage equivalent to weight. Cars usually pick up mileage while trucks break even and suv's lose.

At least that was the case in a test I saw.
