Its been a long journey for me over the last 6 months transistioning from a 4L60E to a 4L80E. For those of you that don't know I built my 4L80E in my garage with quality parts purchased from Chuck and Vince at FLT. I started out with a good core and with help from Vince I feel I have a solid transmission I will not have to worry about for along time to come... if ever. Vince set me up with his recommended steels and frictions, all new solenoids, Torlon chaeck *****, advice on the Transgo HD2 install, on top of hooking me up with a 300M billet input shaft The ONLY problem I THOUGHT I had was a rattle sound that started after the transmission swap. I climbed underneath my truck 3 times, including dropping my pan, before I found it... damn exhaust hanger just within reach of the frame... and after the truck warmed up... rattle... rattle. Thats why I thought I screwed up my first build. Nope... wasn't the case. I just needed to climb under the truck at a different angle and there it was... a hanger on my Corsa exhaust in front of the muffler. I cut and rewelded it and the sound is gone! I also want to say thanks to Chuck (and Terry at PI) for helping me select an awesome torque converter... a PI Vig 9.5" 3200 triple disk.
