Default 04' diesel no start.

It is a customers truck we have here in the shop. It will crank over all day long and never start. According to our scanner we have crank rpm, there is no air in the lines, and the in tank transfer pump is working and putting out 16lbs of pressure. You can hit it with one little snort of ether and it will crank a half second and start. It will run all day pull trailers no smoke nothing and even gets great mileage according to the customer but if you shut it off it will not restart on it's own. Using alldata we diagnosed it as a bad injection pump. It is a new dodge pump that was put on about a year ago at a dodge dealer. I told him to take it back. They tested it and said it was fine but could not explain the situation. I still believe it's a pump. If anyone has ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

It's cause it's a Dodge.. lol Just kiddin.. I don't know a whole lot about diesels, but maybe a diaphram in the pump is bad, or weak, and just cranking it doesn't build enough pressure to pump the fuel in? Like I said, I don't know much at all about diesels, but I do agree that he should make them put another pump on it.
