alright so i have some 2* shims waiting to be installed but i want to know, which direction does the fat side of the shim go to make my pinion angle more negative? with the level shackles i have, i need to readjust the angles. i have been trying to see which way its supposed to go but cant get a clear answer.

Seems to me this is how it needs to go, but I don't know for sure. I would think you would want the shims to return the rearend to the original angle it was before installing the drop shackles, right?

yea i want the pinion angle to be like ti was before the drop....im thinkin under some conditions it goes positive and thats how i broke my carrier bearing. so do those pictures indicate going with the fat side to the front of the truck?

your illustrations have the pinion angle becoming more negative after the drop and im pretty sure after the drop in the rear the angle get more near zero so under load it becomes positive. if this is true wouldnt i need to put the fat side the the rear?

sorry im confused and not trying to question yoru help

i guess it depends which side the flat mount is on...if its on top then the angle would be pointed down.

yes the shim should be pointed to the rear fat end toward the front , i had to use 6 degree shime to get my truck almost right its still off by almost 3 degrees but its close enough so i dont have vibration any more. it just goes to show how much mcgoofy's designed their kit
