Default PWM trans swap to Non-PWM trans?????

Just wondering if there is a simple answer to this question. I have a 98 Chevy truck so the trans uses TC PWM. I have Hughes pre-PWM trans and converter that I would like to install if the stock one ever takes a crap. Can this trans even be used in my truck or will this set a code without the PWM? I have a transgo shift kit in the truck but can't recall if this eliminated this function (it's been a few years). I think it did because at the time I did the shift kit to get rid of the problem of it slipping out of TC lockup in 4th under light throttle, which it did. Additionally, the Hughes trans that I have is an electronic valve body style but without the bolt on bellhousing like the 98 trans has. Is there any reason why I can't use this trans on my 98?
