Default OT/ Old school BB build?

So i have two more cars to sale before the mean woman that lives in my house will let me get a 69 camaro lol......

Ive been wanting to do a copo clone for years now and just never have pulled the trigger... well last night she said why dont you finish the corvette....

Sounds like a good plan,

So quick recap on the vette. 1967 convert, M22 trans, 3:73 or 4:56 rear end, ( i have both ) 327 motor. board and storked a few times... it was dads car and well he beat the living hell out of it back in the late 60-70's.... we freshed it up a year or so ago when i broke the crank spanking one of the pesky porsche owners... well upto 100 mph.. its kinda scarry on biaplay after that.. Well we pulled the motor, cleaned it up again.. The machine shop said they cant fix it again when it comes appart... its stil a "mathing" number block and heads, but nothings left stock... it has the GM off road race cam, 13.5:1 compression pistion, Lunatti ultra light crank, race rods etc... 222 double hump heads, ported / polished etc.. etc.. The pistion stick out of the block .90thousands, so i had to order some special crap.. true compression is unknow or at least i dont know what its... long story short motor still looks stock car makes 420-440 whp depending on temp and who's dyno and i twist it 7500 rpms... its fast as hell for a "stock " 327 350 hp car lol...

Anyway with that being said id like to build a nast nasty big block, do the same deal, painted orange look 100% stock on the out side and put the fear of god in you... compression doesent matter because i only put 4-500 miles a year on it, and well you cant go very far with 456 gears lol...

So you building guys what do you suggest... I know there are 700+ crate motors out there... just want sure if building it custom was the way to go or what...

Let the ideas flow... id like to stay about $10K or less.

Thats an easy one ! 454 11-1 compression (Victor) Edelbrock Heads from West Coast Cylinder Heads. H-beam rods. Mechanical Roller from Comp 262 int.272 EX.@ 050 670-690 lift @ valve on A 114 L.S. 850-950 holley and this combination will produce 670-700 BHP rev 7500 no problem and sneeze 620 TQ to the crank. I did this for A 69 camaro and the customer was and is still very happy with the combination. He even used A cast stock crank (against my recommendations)but the engine still runs great and he is very happy. That was 9 years ago. He only drives it to local car shows but when he drives it he pounds it all the way to rev limiter.

^^^^^^ Looks like a good plan to me. World products sells short blocks for under five grand if you look around in the 540ci range or bigger for more green. Then build it from there. If you dont care about compression and what not you can get some serious HP out of a BB chevy for under 10K. I would do some shopping around and research on the net and see what you can find. 632 all aluminum would be sweet too. Like jetmann said, cant go wrong with a good ol 454.
