Default newbie needs help with truck lift

I have a 2003 suburban z71 with 93k on it. I am looking to get it lifted this summer. I was talking to some friends and they recommended a 2in body lift with a 3in suspension lift. But, I was wondering for what I am looking for, if I needed to even lift it. I want my truck to have really aggressive looking wheels that are 2-3 inches out of the wheel wells. Basically, I just want my truck to look like it has wider tires. My question to you guys is, do I need to lift the truck in order to make more clearance for this type of tire? With getting such a wide tire do I need to get an aftermarket rim? Also, if I do have to get aftermarket rims, do you know where I can get a basic black rim with a chrome centerpiece. Any input on this topic would be great and much appreciated.

Thanks

not sure if you will enjoy the wider tires as much as you think, every puddle with get all over your truck, but either way you will need new rims that are wider, and a descent offset
