WOW i think ive been hammering for about 15 minutes and its barely 1/2 way in,i lubed it with oil too.im using a 2x4 and a little hammertalk about a big headache, any suggestions or is that the only way installing it.
Would it be o.k if the bolt caught some threads and i just hit it with the impact??

heat the crank pulley in the oven...not too hot or use a propane torch(lightly on the center) and it should help some.Did for me anyway

Heating it up is the way I do it and it works out great. I wouldnt hammer on it it too much with a hammer or the impact, IMO. Too much with the impact and not enough threads and you could end up taking out alot of threads out of the crank, not good.

The oven will work, or a propane tourch, like said with the tourch heat the center.. You arn't going to beat it on unless it is warm. You can get the longer crank bolt from a sponsor, that helps alot... I opped to make one, using the old crank bolt, sleeving it to fit into a larger bolt, welding them together to get the length I needed, worked like a charm, but it wounde up getting screwed up....

There is a guy on tech who makes a "crank pulley install tool" and he sells a TON of them to members for a good price. Picked one up myself a couple years ago and it is well worth every penny. Do a search there and if you can't find it, PM me and I will dig up a link.
