Doesn't the new six speed suck up more power now?

I take the review with a grain of salt, not much info out there right now and we all are itching to see whats going on. Two new trucks out the f-150 and the Hemi there should be some more trucks to play with on the street! Also interested in how dodge will do with the new 4 link rear end and lower tow capacity. Might make the bigger is better theme go away and we can get back to 4000lb curb weights.

I am ready to see how the new Dodge does, I'm really curious about the R/T.

Motor Trend tested it at 14.4@93.4mph and 0-60 at 5.7 seconds.

It was for economy but it can also be a big advantage for performance. Combined with the right gearing of course. A correctly matched drivetrain will get the motor up in the powerband and keep it in the band very efficiently. That's why the Tundra's run so well. The 4.30/6spd combo is an awesome match to the DOHC VVT 5.7 motor. My co-worker's EC Tundra went 14.30's completely stock. With the classic 4spd there is too much of an rpm drop in b/w gear changes. GM has the best V8's in the world but is way behind on transmission technology. They should have been offering the 6spd years ago.

Boy that article just killed the Chebby!! For 46 grand, that's aweful. However, we all know it can't be that freakin slow. For 46 grand they could have had a 6.2L Denali!! The Tundra's are quick for sure.....but they are so damn fugly!! The Titan's are a decent performer and are underrated. I've seen one put down 290ish with just an air intake. One important thing to remember that the GM's have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more potential though with all the goodies out there for these LS motors.

That Sport model is pretty sweet. I would love to see GM build a sport or "SS" model in a single cab with a 6.2L, 6spd, 390 gear.... That would be killer!! Something esle to mention is the sport edition Colorado with the 5.3L, 18" wheels, etc. Wonder how these are running at the track? They have to be the fastest mid size truck out there!!

Here's another test I come across. Funny how the Chevy in this one costs as much as the one in the test Mr Frontier found but this has the 6.2L. For 3.42 gearing I think it's pretty impressive. Shoot with 3.90-4.10 gears and a tune.....the competition would have been slaughtered. It would be cool to see a test where they added the exact same mods to all trucks and see the outcome. Tune results, air intake results, exhaust results.... way cool!
