Default Removing luggage rack on '97 tahoe

I want to remove the luggage rack on my tahoe. I know that the outer part comes off with just torx screws, but what do I fill the holes with and how do I get the center part off.
Thanks

You would have to get them shaved just like any other part on the truck, they fill the hole, smooth it out and repaint.

I have seen it where you just pop in little rubber or plastic fillers, and that is the end of it. Perhaps you have to silicone them in but it is a lot less of a pain in the *** than shaving. I was just curious if you guys knew where i could get those fillers.

done that numerous times
Any parts store - or autobody supply
I siliconed them in
Basicaly it is a body, fender plug or fastener.
Better than shaving and painting the roof.

My opinion it is better - no welding - dont have to drop the headliner - no filler - no sanding - dont have to paint and clear the roof - retain the factory paint and the rack can be put back on if needed.

Better as far as custom looking - no - nothing better than a good shave

Just have to go for what pleases you and the look your going for.

Can I take the Chrome trim on the fenders off just like the trim on the doors on the tahoe?? Does it just come off with heat??
