Remove center bar from 01-02 HD grille?

[QUOTE=BigKID;4988963]The cheapest I found the grille was on ebay for $154 iirc. Most other places are in the $170 range. The cap is fairly cheap though. LMC Truck has it for $79 and their fairly competitive on the other parts as well but they seem to ding you on shipping. The Z71 valance is pricey everywhere I looked at around $160 where the regular valance is only $40 so I am sticking with it. I ended up getting all my parts from a neighbor that works at a body shop and they get all their parts from LKQ. I don't have a final price from him yet though but I am sure it will be cheaper than even ebay prices.[/QUOT
thanks hadn't thought about lmc truck for some reason... if you don't mind when ever you do the swap could you take pictures of the bumper brackets when you lower them to fit the hd bumper that is my only concern being that i own a welder but have never used it

That looks good, but would be a lil job to actually make. Could def be done. Then you need a turbo sitting rite where they have the tag swirled with a custom cut bumper.

Its an aftermarket copy of the 01-02 HD grille. They came that way from factory. Also has anyone been able to find just the center bar for sale? I have the grille but need the center bar

Launching!
The chrome piece? Don't think anybody carries it. I need to replace mine too cause it's peeling but it's probably cheapest to keep an eye out for an entire grill at the junkyard or ebay.
Anybody ever make anything out of this grille? That center bar removed looks nice, def would be interested in doing it if possible.

If I could find a used grill for cheap, I would still like to try this. I currently have my grill off for a heat exchanger upgrade and was looking at how this could be done. It would take some pretty extensive reconstruction at the edges of the grill window and where the bars are cut as the bar is a separate piece from the grill shell. Getting the correct contour of the grill mesh insert would also be a bit of a challenge. I think it can be done though.
