cheap shop lights penetrate water a lot better than LED. we tried LED and it doesnt penetrate as deep, and gives more of a glare. wish LED worked better because it sure does tuck up and make for a cleaner install.

I was looking at the seelite LED's. I mainly don't want to have to carry a generator and all that. Just an extra battery or two. A buddy of mine runs them with some yellow tint and they do well enough. Just wanting to avoid the noise and weight of a genny. I've got a few halogens laying around here. I may just rig up half and half and see what the difference is. I've got a welder building the rail right now. It'll be high enough to lean on and not fall over. Padded with beer holders and bow holders. I wanted an elevated platform on my front deck and put the lights under the edge but that's a good bit more $$ and those mud motors are sensitive to weight. It's gonna be bad enough just adding what I already am. I refuse to mod that engine at least for now. So I'll be limited to what the stock EFI motor can carry. I'd really like to find a 90hp outboard or so to drop on my hull for the summer.
