Are they HID's or and "HID" bulb? There's lots of just bulbs out there that are advertised as HID's, but if they don't have a ballast then they are nothing but a glorified halogen bulb.

NOPE I have never replaced a bulb in my truck or my wifes civic!

They are HID's i have a ballast. Have replaced the ballast just for fun.

nope. HID's are gold when they come to durability. Tell us a little about your truck azchevydude so we can help you out a bit. Also having projector headlights has nothing to do with them acting up because they're not connected to the bulb in any way. It just houses them.
