Default My Dupli-Color Paint Shop Finish System Experiment.....

I got bored and I realized I hated my mirror caps so I decided to paint another set of mirrors I had laying around... I used that Paint Shop Finish System stuff I saw on TrucksTV, I dunno if anyone watched that or not...

I sanded them down with 320, then 2 coats of adhesion promoter and then 3 coats of filler primer sanding with 400 inbetween, then 3 coats of base black, the 3 coats of clear. They turned out pretty good, I still need to color sand them and buff them out, to get rid of the orange peal, but this is what they look like after I sprayed them... Tomorrow I will color sand them (1500 or 2000) and buff them out... I did not have my good spray gun it was at my parents house so I had to use my little spray gun..

Tomorrow I will be able to tell if the paint is any good... I know it is cheap but I did not feel like speend $$$ on the good stuff for such a small job and like I said I got bored....

Anyways here are the pics, sorry my camera does not take good pictures up close, so they are kinda blurry....

Thanks, these are a different set of mirrors than I have on my truck now... The stupid Stylin Concepts mirror caps are glued on the current mirrors... But I will post up some pics when I instal them to see if the color matches, if they dont match i guess i will break down ang go buy some good urethane paint and clear

Yep I got 3.75 inches yesterday, not the best weather when you shooting paint! How is the engine coming along?

They are acutally turning out decent, I did a little wet sanding a polishing on 1 piece during my lunch break today, and they really have some decent depth to them... I was kinda surprised...

I used some GM touch up paint that came in a spray can to do the bowtie in my grille, it came out beautifully. I also sprayed over it with some GM clear topcoat spray too. I didnt expect it to look so good but its flawless

Duplicolor actually makes some quality stuff. I'm not too surprised by your results to be honest. I've had great luck with everything they make so far. It is nice to see someone using this stuff. How much does that stuff run anyway? I've got a project car I need to paint, lol.
