Default Feeler thread: Carbon Fiber and your GM truck

So I've been looking into making some molds for various carbon fiber parts for '99-07 (maybe '07.5-13 too) trucks and really I'm curious to see how much interest is out there. What I was thinking specifically was making some fenders, maybe a stock style bumper, a HD hood (for the sierra too), if I get crazy maybe some bed sides or even a whole bed kit. Is this something you guys would buy for weight savings on our trucks, I know a whole lot of us race and can always use the weight savings. Just feeling out the thoughts right now.

Whats you guys' and gals opinions? or anything else you would be interested in? Looking for thoughts!

I'm not in scope for your request (2014) but I definitely would be. If you're not aware of the Chevy Cheyenne concept truck, check this out...

Price point would help me determine my level of interest! Haha

bigsapper: I did know I watched the reveal its an awesome truck, the only reason I'm not including the 14+ is I dont have a test vehicle to make molds from, I'd be interested in doing it if I can get some panels or something it definitely not out of the question, Im gonna be doing other vehicles like thirdgen fbodys, cobalts, square body gm and others too.

What would you be interested in if I did 14+ models?

sprayedenali: I could only estimate prices I wouldnt know exact until I popped a mold and figured hrs. what would you be looking at getting?

I would be interested in a GMC HD hood if the price is right and the part fit well.

I would love a copy of my smooth front bumper in carbon or fiberglass, but I will settle for a stock style bumper.
