Default ecsb 6.0 vs tbss and ccsb 6.2

I've got a fresh lq4 with pacesetter lts, k&n filter and black bear tune I'm my 05 ecsb 4x4 with 3.42s. Ran the tbss awd with bolt ons and tune from a dig and got beat by 2-3 lengths, that's with launching in 4wd.

I ran my buddies bone stock ccsb 6.2 4x4 from a 30 roll and he was at my bumper up past 100. Them 6.2s run good! With this info I think my truck would run mid 14s, maybe low 14s if I could hook in 2wd. Everyone concur? I need an intake and an under drive pulley soon. And pick a cam and stall to wake her up.

for the record I evened the odds with the tbss, i ran home and grabbed the wife's car and got him by 1.5 lengths from a dig. It's a bone stock 2012 infiniti g37x sedan. Runs pretty damn good though. Awd launches are pretty fun!

I'd say mid 14's is a pretty good guess there.

Do you still have a stock 4L60e in there?

If it was my truck with that engine I would do the following... more or less as aggressive as I would get with a truck that is a daily driver.

Get a decent trans in there. At the very least do a Sonnax performance kit. Next on the list would be a 3000-3200 278mm converter. I would then put in a cam... again if it was my truck the specs would look like this : 221/226 LSL/LXL on a 114+3. Mid range will be strong enough that with a 3000 converter it will still launch pretty hard, and I would expect about a 6300 RPM shift point. I would likely set it to 6200 on the street and let it eat a little more at the track.

If you have the budget it will run harder with a 258mm 3200, but it will also drive a little looser around town.

Thats a recipe for a low 13 second truck. If you dont use the truck as a daily and are open to a larger cam it could be even faster.

I have a stock 60e. I'm deciding whether to go with a built 60e or move up to an 80e. The trans and t case have 140k on them so it won't be long. I've been looking at the yank trucker stall as it'll let me tow. But shouldn't any lockup Converter allow this? My big problem at the moment is traction. I've got brand new 32.5 ats on it and 1st gear is pretty useless with the cold asphalt. Gotta find me some sticky summer tires.

What kind of lift would that cam have you're speaking of? I had a 04 gto with a 238/242 .600.610 114+3 lsa cam with a fuddle 3600 stall, it ran well but was a little big for the 5.7, didn't make much torque. So I'm definitely open to cam/stall suggestions to get 5k lbs moving

That cam would have .609 intake and .605 lift on the exhaust. No need to go higher. Just to be clear its the duration that killed your low end on the last cam, not the lift.

the cam I mentioned above would be night and day different than your 5.7 and the cam that was in it.

it would appear the 222/226 cam does well with boost on your truck. im interested in a power adder down the road if I decide to build this truck up. I believe a cam with a little more duration would be worth it, im unsure how much duration will start to hinder torque. Thanks for your input btw

hinder torque is all relative... it depends how its driven. It depends what converter you have. If you are ok with a 3600 converter and are concerned with how it will launch at WOT then bottom end torque has a totally different meaning than someone who drives the truck daily and wants snap even at part throttle... get what I mean?

If its the second option that sounds cool to you then what I spec's will work well... if its the first then the cam I run would look more like this:
227/230 112+3. 6300-6400 shift points on the street and a couple hundred more in 'race' mode. It would launch like a Mother F*cker with a 9.5" 3600 converter.
