I think you will have problems in the 1/8th, my mostly stock 09 will do 12.95@102mph at 7200lb race weight. This is just tune and lift pump for the motor, it will beat most low 12 sec cars in the 1/8th but they will be coming fast by the top of the 1/4. They get off the line quick but don't have the top end. Will he be launching in 4X4?

Mid 12s with minor mods there are quite a few. But to make a 11 or even 10 second diesel is 2-3 times the cost of a gasser. There wicked and fun. They have a lot of torque but like states it don't pull u around on the top end. 1/8th mile will be a hell of a race. But I think 1/4 mile u could get him bro. My towns full of diesels like most towns ricers. A few are fast the fastest diesel truck in town was a 2011 Cummins lifted with 37s and road armor bumpers front and back. Was a friend of a friends truck pit down 917 to the wheels but was heavy turd. Dudes rose in my truck and he him self thinks I would of gotten it in the 1/4 . then again it was a heavy *** mega cab on 37s. But a bad *** truck showed me his build logs had just over 100k in everything including interior and ext. But still .

What kind of 60' and 330' does your truck do? That is where the diesel will have the advantage. My 09 has about 150 launches this year, about 80% of the time it is out in front at the 1/8th against a gas rig. When it loses it is usually in the last couple hundred feet. This should be a good race like you said, I am building a 408 for my 03 and the wife wants to race me in the 09. I am thinking I should probably let her win

Looks like your truck hooks up well, it will probably be pretty close and come down to the best reaction time and launch. It looks like that turbo gives you some low end grunt, what kind of boost do you leave the line at?

Anything above 0 on the boost gauge spins all four. I can build 10 psi no prob but it spins and results in a 2.2 60 foot.

I bring it up to right around 0 and hold it. On 3rd yellow let it eat

I think a couple gal on race gas mixed w my 93 will give me a little coushion against knock and keep the timing/power at a max. That and removing the tailgate.

With that in mind I would focus on getting a decent tire on there to race with.
