Good luck, there were only a couple thousand made. I personally have only seen one on the road. I ask the guy, and he wouldn't sell.

I have a couple in my home town, one is cherry, the other kinda ratty and faded, but still straight. They arent really special trucks, well, they had 318's, but they were TBI dogs!!!! I believe the 3.9 Mag V6 that came out in the Gen 2's was quicker then the TBI Shelby Daks. Like Ryan said, I want a 'vert Dakota with a Gen 2 front end on it.

Only time I've ever seen a Shelby, or a convertible was at the Mopar Nats in Columbus and at All Chrysler in Carlisle. I've never seen one on the road.

I'll raise this dead thread. I bought one about a month ago. Like most Dakotas from this era, it needs some work to be as nice as it needs to be.

Hey do you mind posting a couple pics? I've seen the convertible Dakotas (there's one that shows up to some of the local car shows) I had thought that the convertible ones WERE the Shelbys, but admittedly I dont know alot about them.

Theres a kid that has a 5.2 Shelby Dak around here. It was actually the first dakota that I raced once I got my Dakota. I was on the way home from buying it (no insurance, no registration) and put it to him hardcore at a stoplight on southbound US67 just south of Bonne Terre. I really honestly thought it would be faster than that... Carroll Shelby cant be too proud of those.
